Keeps the chat loud, not rude.
Muzzle is a free moderation bot for Yapin'. It handles bans, warnings, automod and raids, so your mods can get back to the conversation. Add it, give it a role, and run /setup.
What it does
Everything a mod team reaches for, in one bot.
Moderation with cases
Every ban, kick, timeout and warning gets a numbered case with the reason and who did it, so your team can look anyone up with /history. Add a duration to a ban and Muzzle lifts it by itself when it runs out.
/ban @user 7d spamming invite links
Warning thresholds
Decide what happens after a number of warnings, like a one-hour timeout at three and a week-long ban at five. Muzzle applies it the moment the warning lands, and only if the mod who warned could have done it themselves.
/thresholds add 3 timeout 1h
Automod
Seven filters you switch on one at a time. Banned words still get caught when someone writes them as B4DW0RD or baaaad. Mods and the channels or roles you choose are always left alone.
/automod words add badword, scam*
Raid mode
When lots of accounts join at once, Muzzle switches raid mode on, times out or kicks the newcomers, pauses auto-roles and posts one summary to your log instead of a hundred lines. You can switch it on by hand too.
/raidmode auto on
Roles
Give new members a role automatically, post a panel of buttons people click to pick their own roles, or use classic emoji reaction roles.
/rolepanel add @Events 🎉 Event pings
Welcome messages
Yapin' has no join messages of its own, so Muzzle greets new members with a card showing their picture and member number. When lots of people join at once they share one welcome, and nothing is posted during a raid. Write your own message, DM newcomers too, or say goodbye when people leave.
/welcome message Hey {user}, welcome to {server}!
Custom commands and a mod log
Make replies like !rules for your server. Every action is logged to your mod log, posted through a webhook so it never slows the bot down.
/cc add rules Read #rules before posting, {user}!
Careful by design.
It never repeats a banned word
Anything Muzzle posts, from ban reasons to the mod log, has your server's banned words masked, so the bot can never be the one posting them.
It respects your role order
Mods can only act on people below them, and Muzzle checks every command itself before it does anything.
It stays quick on busy days
Answers go out as replies and the log goes through a webhook, so Muzzle keeps within Yapin's message limits even when chat is on fire.
It keeps very little
Settings and moderation cases only. Messages are never stored, and everything about your server is deleted within 7 days of removing Muzzle.
Getting started
Set up in about two minutes.
Add Muzzle
In Yapin', open Server settings, then Bots, and add Muzzle.
Give it a role
A role with Ban, Kick, Timeout, Manage messages, Manage roles and Manage channels, placed above your members.
Run /setup
It checks Muzzle's permissions and switches on the mod log, automod and raid protection with one tap each.
Free, with nothing locked away.
Every Muzzle feature is free for every server. If it helps yours, you can chip in towards keeping it online. It's completely optional and doesn't unlock anything.
Commands
Every Muzzle command
Type them in any channel with / or !. Tap a command to see how to use it.

What Muzzle keeps
Short version: settings and moderation cases, only while Muzzle is in your server. Messages are never stored.
What's stored
- Your server's settings: mod roles, the mod log channel or webhook, automod rules and banned words, raid mode, auto-roles and warning thresholds.
- Moderation cases: the type of action, the user's id, the moderator's id, the reason, any duration and the time it happened.
- Role panels, reaction roles and custom commands that your server makes.
- Temporary bans waiting to be lifted.
- Your dashboard sign-in, if you use the dashboard: your Yapin' user id, name and profile picture link, for up to 7 days or until you sign out. It uses one cookie to keep you signed in, and nothing for tracking. Muzzle doesn't keep your Yapin' login token and can't see your email or messages through it.
What isn't stored
- Messages. Automod looks at each message as it arrives and holds the last few seconds in memory to spot spam, then forgets it.
- DMs. Muzzle doesn't read or keep messages people send it.
How long it's kept
For as long as Muzzle is in your server. Muzzle checks every hour which servers it's still in. Once it has been removed from a server for 7 days, everything stored about that server is deleted. The 7 days give you time to re-add it if it was removed by mistake.
A server's admins can delete a single case at any time with /delcase.
Who can see it
Your server's moderators, through Muzzle's commands and your mod log, and people with Manage Server, through the dashboard. Changes made on the dashboard are posted to your mod log with who made them. Muzzle uses your server's data only to run its features in your server.
Donations
Donations are optional and handled by the payment site you're sent to, under its own privacy policy. Muzzle doesn't see or keep your payment details, and donating changes nothing about how Muzzle works in your server. Muzzle isn't a registered charity, and donations aren't tax deductible.
